This AFT brochure describes a variety of federal loan forgiveness programs available to classroom teachers.

Although neither the IFT or American Federation of Teachers sponsors a loan forgiveness program, the AFT Teachers division offers a list of resources for federal and state loan forgiveness programs, as well as scholarship programs for students pursuing careers in teaching.
