Your IFTs political staff works every day at the state capitol to ensure that your voice is heard when decisions are made that affect you. Your union’s legislative headquarters, just three blocks from the capitol, is the hub of the union’s lobbying effort. Our lobbying team works to promote pro-worker, pro-education legislation while working to defeat or amend bills that might negatively impact IFT members. Public employee collective bargaining, tenure and education reform and induction/mentoring are just a few of the IFT success in the Illinois General Assembly.
