ER & D
Professional Development

Educational Research and Dissemination (ER&D)*

The ER&D program created by the American Federation of Teachers is a union-sponsored, research-based professional development program. It was created by the AFT through the collaboration of practitioners and researchers to encourage classroom educators and paraprofessionals to improve their practice and their students’ achievement by becoming users of research and proven educational methods.

ER&D courses cover a broad range of topics to meet the needs of every classroom professional.

*ER&D courses may assist teachers with obtaining a standard certificate, earning CPDUs for certificate renewal and/or earning graduate credit from Governors State University. Paraprofessionals may obtain Professional Training Points (PTPs) or credit from Prairie State College.
