Special Order of Business Unanimously Passes at AFT Convention

IFT President Dan Montgomery called for a special order of business on the convention floor which states the American Federation of Teachers will stand in solidarity with AFT educators in hostile bargaining environments who are fighting to defend fair contracts and the right to bargain collectively.

The resolution was called for debate and passed unanimously.

The resolution pledges solidarity for AFT affiliates that it asserts have been attacked, beseiged, or had their contracts superceded, as in Detroit, Chicago, and Jefferson County, Colo.
