BRUCE RAUNER WANTS TO DESTROY UNIONS
Rauner plans to eliminate public pension benefits, forcing all teachers and public workers into risky 401(k)s without a Social Security net, while still cashing in millions he made investing our contributions in the stock market.

“The historic [pension] system is absolutely unaffordable and incredibly generous.”    - Chicago Tribune  5.21.14

BRUCE RAUNER BACKS "RIGHT-TO-WORK"
Rauner has cited union-buster Scott Walker (WI) as his role model. Like him, he supports “right-to-work” laws that strip workers of their right to form unions and bargain contracts. These policies result in lower wages and fewer benefits and protections.

“I may have to take a strike and shut down the government
for a few weeks [IN ORDER TO] redo everybody’s contract.”
- Capitol Fax  3.19.13

“The [Teachers] union...they’re not about the students. They’re not about results. They’re not about the taxpayers.”
- Chicago Tribune  9.19.12

BRUCE RAUNER'S "BUDGET" CUTS EDUCATION AND SERVICES
Rauner’s “budget” would force dramatic cuts to education. One out of every six teachers would be laid off, and local communities would have to raise property taxes just to keep the schools open.

"[Rauner's plan would] put a chokehold on the public school system in your community."  - Chicago Sun-Times  7.18.14
