Register now for online PD opportunities

The IFT and Illinois Education Association have partnered with the Illinois State Board of Education to offer another opportunity for convenient, very low-cost professional development for PreK-12 teachers this spring. Register today for classes that begin as soon as March 9!

This program is offered through ISBE and is designed to offer high-quality, engaging professional learning online. The cost is $50 per course, and an Internet-connected computer is all that is required to participate.

The self-paced courses will be conducted over six to eight weeks, depending on the course chosen. Offerings include:

  • Science 2.0: Using Web Tools to Promote Inquiry-based Science
  • Best Practices for Vocabulary Instruction in the Elementary Classroom
  • Planning a Close Reading Lesson: Grades 3-6
  • Implementing the Eight Mathematical Practices in the Elementary School Classroom
  • Implementing ELA-Literacy Common Core Standards: Focus on Assessment and Reading Standards
  • Implementation of a Balanced Assessment System
  • Mobile Devices for Teaching and Learning
  • Algebraic Thinking in Elementary School
  • Classroom Assessment Enhanced by Technology

Depending upon the length of the course, 20-30 professional development hours will be available for each course completed. Participants may register for more than one course.
