Start the New Year with Free Professional Development

Teachers, sign up today for no-cost, online professional development that begins January 7, 2015.

The IFT and Illinois Education Association are partnering with the Illinois State Board of Education in 2015 to offer convenient, FREE professional development programs for teachers. The first course begins in January, so sign-up today!

The program is offered through ISBE and is designed to offer high-quality, engaging professional learning online. An Internet-connected computer is required to participate.

The seven-week courses will be self-paced and guided by a trained Illinois online facilitator. Topics will include:

  • Implementing the Eight Mathematical Practices in the Elementary School Classroom (begins January 7, 2015)
  • Planning a Close Reading Lesson: Grades 3-6 (begins February 4, 2015)
  • Implementation of a Balanced Assessment System: Making Sense of Assessment for Educators (begins April 1, 2015)
