Enroll in low cost, online professional development

PreK-12 teachers, register today to take advantage of this unique opportunity to earn professional development hours this summer.

The IFT and Illinois Education Association have partnered with the Illinois State Board of Education to offer convenient, very low cost professional development for PreK-12 teachers this summer. Register today for this great opportunity!

This pilot program is offered through ISBE and is designed to offer high-quality, engaging professional learning online. The cost is $50 per course, and an Internet-connected computer is required to participate.

The self-paced courses will be conducted over six or seven weeks. The following courses will be offered:

  • Planning a Close Reading Lesson: Grades 3-6
  • Improving Reading and Writing in the Content Areas
  • Implementation of a Balanced Assessment System
  • Algebraic Thinking in Elementary School


Thirty (30) professional development hours will be available for each course completed. Participants may register for more than one course.
