Researchers at PolicyLab at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia are warning that Chicago can become the next COVID-19 hot spot because of the high transmission rate, inadequate social distancing, and insufficient reductions in visits to non-essential businesses, as the basis for their theory that Chicago could see a spike in cases in the fall. Just this week, Governor Pritzker said that we are in a “make or break” moment for Chicago citing recent increases in COVID-19 cases.
To avoid further transmission, CDC recommends:
• maintain a 6-foot social distance
• wear a face mask
• wash your hands frequently
• clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces
• monitor your heath daily
