Nominate an outstanding teacher for a Golden Apple Award

Applications are being accepted through December 15.
Do you know a high school teacher who deserves to be recognized for their outstanding work? Nominate them for a 2019 Golden Apple Award for Teaching Excellence!

Nominations are now being accepted statewide. (Previously, the award was open only to educators in the Chicago area.) The deadline is December 15, 2018.

Nominees must:
• Be classroom educators currently teaching full-time in grades 9-12 at an Illinois school.
• Have completed no fewer than four years of teaching prior to the 2018-19 school year.
• Be able to demonstrate - in their teaching and results - significant, positive impact on their students’ growth and learning.

Winners receive:
• $5,000 cash.
• Induction into the Golden Apple Academy of Educators.
• Recognition on a televised PBS show.
• A paid spring quarter sabbatical at Northwestern University.

Golden Apple is a non-profit organization that works to inspire, develop, and support teacher and school leader excellence in Illinois. Since 1986, it has been recognizing excellent teachers with this annual award.
