IFT's constitution contains the fundamental principles which govern the operation of our organization.

As the IFT grows, the need for qualified professionals to join our ranks as staff also grows.

As a member, you are part of your local union, the IFT with over 100,000 members, AFT comprised of more than 1.4 million members, and the 10 million strong AFL-CIO.

IFT is committed to building power and engaging in social and economic issues. There are multiple ways to get involved in this important work.

Through the IFT, AFT, and Union Plus, members have access to free and low-cost professional development and union leadership opportunities and PSRP-specific trainings and conferences, occupational liability insurance, scholarship programs, crisis counseling, consumer savings programs, and much, much more.

As a retired AFT national member, you will receive the same IFT and AFT newsletters you got while you were a working member and you will maintain access to most IFT and AFT + member benefits. You can get even more out of your membership by becoming involved in your local, regional or state retiree chapter’s activities.
