Faculty and staff in the Chicago State University chapter of the University Professionals of Illinois (CSU UPI Local 4100) escalated their protests on Day 10 of the strike with a peaceful sit-in at President Scott's office. Scott responded by scolding the members like children and calling campus police to kick them out.

The action comes on the heels of yet another unproductive bargaining session last night, during which President Scott attended briefly for the first time, only to double down on her administration's last unacceptable offer and leave the room.

The parties have bargained seven times since the strike began on April 3, but the administration has not made any movement.

Another bargaining session is scheduled for tomorrow at 11 AM.
