No prior experience is necessary. We will train you and help you connect with your legislators. Meet at the IFT office and we will walk over to the capitol together.

IT is time to put people over profits  

While the top 5% in our state are getting massive handouts from Trump, teachers and school staff, higher education workers, and public employees are being asked to do more with less, working without the resources, respect, and dignity they deserve.

 

But it doesn’t have to be that way. It is time for our political conversation to be centered on those who work the hardest, not those who can afford to speak the loudest.

All across Illinois, IFT members have shown up on Fridays, in Springfield, and in their communities to demand the full funding our students, campuses, and communities deserve. From Full Funding Fridays to our May Day actions and lobby days at the Capitol, you made our voices impossible to ignore.

Now the fight continues, and we need you back in Springfield.

Join us for a Lobby Day on Wednesday, Nov. 18 or Wednesday, Dec. 2 to meet with legislators and press for two things:
 

  • Full funding for Illinois public education. Lawmakers need to hear directly from the people who keep our schools, colleges, and public services running.

  • No to federal vouchers. Illinois should not opt into the federal voucher program, which would steer public resources toward private schools and away from the public institutions our communities rely on.
