Standing Together for Our Students, Our Communities, and Democracy

May Day will be a powerful statewide and national moment, and we want you to be a part of it. Now more than ever, it is our solidarity that will energize this fight to put people over profits, fund our public schools and services, and do so by making the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share.

IT is time to put people over profits

While the top 5% in our state are getting massive handouts from Trump, teachers and school staff, higher education workers, and public employees are being asked to do more with less, working without the resources, respect, and dignity they deserve.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. It is time for our political conversation to be centered on those who work the hardest, not those who can afford to speak the loudest.

All across Illinois, IFT members have been showing up on Fridays, in Springfield, in their communities, demanding the full funding our students, campuses, and communities deserve. From the first Full Funding Friday to our powerful lobby days at the Capitol, IFT members have consistently made their voices impossible to ignore.

Your efforts are making a difference!

Thank you for participating in Full Funding Fridays each month leading up to May Day on May 1. These actions have included walk-ins, solidarity events, union shirt days, and other creative demonstrations that have highlighted our shared values and demands.

That’s why we’re encouraging members to take part in May Day, a long‑standing day of solidarity for working people, families, and communities.
