It’s unfair that many of our colleagues must work much longer - and contribute more - to earn a significantly reduced pension. This should anger ALL union members.

DIGNITY
One reason many people enter a public service career is because they are promised dignity and financial security after a lifetime of dedicated public service. With Tier 2, Illinois has broken its promise to educators and all public workers.
IT’S ABOUT ATTRACTING AND RETAINING PROFESSIONALS
At a time when our schools, colleges and universities, and state agencies are so understaffed, we must offer pension benefits that are at least equal with Social Security. Otherwise we cannot hope to attract and retain high quality professionals.
