Resources for immigrant
students and families

Illinois remains a safe haven with strong protections for our students and educators. While the flurry of anti-immigrant and anti-LGBTQ+ Executive Orders from President Trump and the threat of deportation raids across the country, including in Chicago, have caused deep concern, the IFT and AFT stand firmly in solidarity with every person, regardless of immigration status.

This page is meant to serve as a trusted resource for you, providing critical information and support to help students, families, and educators navigate these challenging times. We will update it regularly as we have more information. We urge you to explore and share these resources to ensure our communities remain informed and protected.
