Does Treasurer Frerichs have lost money for you or your family?

Check I-Cash!

On behalf of Illinois Treasurer Michael Frerichs, the IFT wants to let you know about a state program that has made returning unclaimed assets a top priority. Last year, the surviving daughter of a Central Illinois teacher received more than $140,000 in life insurance benefits. According to the treasurer, she is not alone; other IFT members may be surprised to find that there is unclaimed money waiting for you too.

“I want to help people by letting them know they may be among the thousands of families that have unclaimed money and return those funds as quickly as possible,” said Frerichs. “I am grateful to partner with the IFT to return all we can to Illinois workers and their families.”

Through the I-Cash program, Treasurer Frerichs safeguards billions in unclaimed property, including forgotten bank accounts, unclaimed life insurance benefits, and other assets that belong to families, businesses, and nonprofits. Frerichs has worked to streamline and modernize the unclaimed property program. As a result, smaller, simpler claims require little or no paperwork to submit, and Treasurer Frerichs has returned a record $1.7 billion in unclaimed funds.
