From passing a Fair Tax to addressing our public health crisis to winning racial justice, there is a lot at stake in this General Election. It has never been more important that each of us cast our ballot. In the midst of COVID-19, we urge our members to do so EARLY and SAFELY.
IMPORTANT ELECTION DATES
Register
First, check your registration status at ift-aft.org/vote.
If you need to register, follow the prompts to do so online. The standard registration deadline is October 18, 2020.
Voting by mail
Because of concerns about voter safety and COVID-19, voting by mail has been expanded for the 2020 General Election. If you have not received a mail ballot application at your home address, visit the elections.il.gov to request one.
Early voting
You can also cast your ballot in-person before Election Day at select locations. Early voting will be open September 24 – November 2, 2020.
Voting in person
If you don’t vote early or by mail, in-person voting will still be available on November 3. (Remember that this year, Election Day will be a holiday for K-12 schools and university civil servants.)
Your vote is your voice. Be sure to raise it by casting your ballot safely in this critical General Election!
