IFT recommends candidates in 2018 General Election

by Beth Camplain | Aug 02, 2018
Among those who earned IFT support are JB Pritzker and Juliana Stratton, who received the union's endorsement for Governor and Lieutenant Governor in their bid to oust Bruce Rauner.
Your input is essential to our union’s endorsement process in every election cycle. In 2018, members have been more involved than ever in the IFT’s democratic, transparent Political Action Committee (PAC) process.
Beginning with the Primary Election, participation in regional PAC meetings has increased by an amazing 600 percent over 2016! Members around the state reviewed questionnaires and interviewed candidates before making their recommendations. That input was key to the elected members of the IFT Executive Board, who finalized candidate endorsements for the General Election during their meeting on August 1.

Kwame Raoul received a strong endorsement for Illinois Attorney General, an office that has become vitally important as we are continually forced to defend worker rights.
Election 2018 is a critical one to put our state back on the right path. Be sure to cast your ballot when early voting begins on September 27 in many areas across Illinois! (Read more about early voting here.)
