Educators and counselors who wish to begin pursuing National Board certification in the 2020-21 school year may apply now for the $1,900 National Board candidate fee subsidy. Applications are due by Oct. 11.

National Board certification is considered the gold standard in teaching certification. Those who have undergone the process frequently say that it was the best professional development experience of their career.

The certification is provided through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS), a not-for-profit professional organization created and governed by practicing teachers and their advocates.
