The state’s largest teachers union is calling on lawmakers to return to Springfield for a special session.
They say action needs to be taken quickly or the state will continue to fall behind on its commitments to schools.
The issue came to a head last week when the Illinois State Board of Education unveiled how it would fund schools under the “Evidence-Based Formula.”
Their report found fewer districts will be adequately funded this year compared to last year.
