As of Tuesday, UIC United Faculty (IFT-AFT/AAUP Local 6456) members are on strike to win a fair contract. They have been negotiating with the UIC administration since April 2022, and working without a contract since August 2022. They are on strike for:
Fair minimum salaries
Salary increases that keep up with inflation
Mental health and disability resources
Earlier notice of reappointment for Non-Tenure Track faculty
Due process for Tenure Track faculty
