In just the three years since the 2022 IFT Convention, we have experienced dramatic change in our country. From the reelection of a tyrannical leader with his sights set on eliminating constitutional rights and freedoms, withholding constitutionally approved funding from schools and government programs – particularly those that support Black and Brown students and families, destroying public education and unions, and criminalizing hardworking immigrants to renewed attacks on our professions from extremist politicians to fiscal uncertainty at every level, it makes your head swim to think about where our world stood just a few short years ago compared to where we are today.
