History was made yesterday when Vice President Joe Biden selected U.S. Senator Kamala Harris to be his running mate. She is the first Black and South Asian woman to be at the top of the ticket. Selecting Harris was a bold and inspirational choice, especially in these times when the White House praises white supremacists as very fine people. The Biden/Harris administration will be committed to reversing the effects of sexism and systemic racism. We are excited to support this ticket!
Harris has been devoted to improving our public schools, strengthening our voting rights, and protecting the rights of working people. She was one of the first national leaders to support our educators when they went on strike in Los Angeles last year and supports an increase in teachers' wages.
